Jos, ik vind het artikel erg verfrissend. Moest lachen om typeringen van Macron. Miste de 40 miljoen euro die LePen heeft geleend in Moskou om haar campagne te financieren. Vind evenals de auteur het moment van de onthullingen over Fillon hoogst verdacht, maar niet minder waar.
Wat de Russen betreft, dat zij op alle mogelijke manieren proberen invloed uit te oefenen op verkiezingen in verschillende landen staat voor mij vast. Waarom zouden alleen de Amerikanen er dergelijke praktijken op nahouden? Zijn de Russen daar te dom of te aardig voor? Maar de auteur heeft gelijk wanneer ze sarcastisch opmerkt: “What we say is truth, what they say can only be propaganda.”
Al met al een verhelderend en deskundig overzicht van de stand van zaken rond de franse verkiezingen, gezien door een amerikaanse bril. Ik vond het niet zo cynisch, maar vooral realistisch. Leuke uitspraken:
