Cees, je vraag doet me denken aan een antwoord van een Amerikaan in een discussie op de Engelse website Pontnoir een jaar of zes geleden, over het probleem van “water penetration”. Ik laat deze Virtdave aan het woord:
” I agree–the pressure from water across a wall can be pretty huge. When we built our place in California, our building site was halfway up a hill– we followed the advice of the soils engineer and before laying the foundation had a deep (about 3 meters deep) trench cut uphill, with a perforated pipe at the bottom, to divert the runoff. Such a trench is called (in the USA) a French drain, so I imagine it’s not unknown in France. Digging such a drain is not too hard in the soil where we built there, but in Creuse it might be tricky due to the huge granite chunks which might complicate the task.”
Als ik jou was zou ik me twee keer bedenken alvorens die waterbuffer – want dat is het waarschijnlijk – in te ruilen voor andere plannen. Want voordat je het weet moet nog veel dieper gaan nadenken hoe van vochtproblemen af te komen en dat kan ingewikkeld en soms ook kostbaar worden. Zie bijvoorbeeld deze informatie van Siplast.
